Senior Engineering Technician

Primary Responsibilities: As part of the product development process, the Senior Engineering Technician plays a key role in bringing the next generation of products through the release process to a successful manufacturing launch. The Senior Engineering Technician will play particular emphasis on maximizing yields and ensuring trouble free production during the life of the product.  Also, the Senior Engineering Technician will support development of assets complimentary to design insertion into new customer applications (evaluation boards, S2P files, etc).

Primary activities include:

  • Assist engineers in developing documentation for new products.
  • Perform qualification/design validation testing on new products.
  • Assemble and maintain product test fixtures as well as test circuits.
  • Rework circuit board assemblies using a soldering iron and common hand tools. This skill must include soldering and de-soldering of very small parts (surface mount technology).
  • Assist in developing evaluation boards, generating product data in support of datasheets and de-embedded s-parameter files to support customer modeling.
  • Maintain lab equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required.
  • At least 5 years experience with RF component products required.
  • Experience with RF small signal and large signal component testing including insertion loss, VSWR, IP3, P1dB, noise figure and switching speed preferred.
  • Experience with RF network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters as well as power meters preferred.
  • Experience setting up test programs in Agilent VEE preferred.
  • Should have good knowledge of electronic circuits and principles.
  • Proven problem-solving skills. The candidate should be able to work through a problem from first principles even if answer is not known.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS office suite required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.

Microelectronic Assembler

Primary Responsibilities: As key part of the manufacturing team this position will be responsible for meeting established assembly and shipment goals.

Primary activities include:

  • Hand mounting of complex hybrid devices, with attention to tight tolerance placement of critical components
  • Hot gas die attach.
  • Wire bonding: Ribbon bonding, Wire bonding and Ball bonding.
  • Package sealing: Solder sealing and Seam Sealing.
  • Leak Testing: Fine and Gross.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Experience/Requirements:

  • 1+ years’ experience in the microelectronic manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Westbond ribbon and wire bonding
  • Must have working knowledge of Mil Spec 833 as it applies to the manufacturing of electronic components
  • Understanding of written and verbal instructions
  • Must be a team oriented
